About

Hello!

My name is Constance. I am a maker and a passionate paleontology enthusiast from France, with a special fondness for ammonoids, which I love to collect.

I find it a shame to keep my collection to myself without being able to share it with other enthusiasts. Many people choose to showcase their fossils through photos, but I believe that a 3D scan allows for a much better appreciation of each specimen’s morphology.

That’s how the idea for this website was born…

I built my own 3D scanner based on the OpenScan Mini model (a big thank you to OpenScan for making it possible to construct an efficient and affordable 3D scanner), and that’s how my adventure began!

I hope this website will allow curious visitors to discover the beauty of ammonites, and help fellow collectors compare their specimens with mine. Maybe it will even make identification easier. And for those who are missing a particular species, 3D printing could offer an interesting substitute.
